Fundraising Appeal

Long-time friend, Carol Weingarten, has generously given me a group of her calligraphies toward raising funds for an oxygen concentrator.  The need for supplemental oxygen while I sleep has been ordered by my heart surgeon.  He, emphatically, cautioned me about the danger of a stroke.  I live with a condition of chronic heart failure, and complications attributed to HIV and Parkinson’s Disease.  This combination of diseases degraded my heart and lungs, and I am highly eligible for stroke.  I live from one social security to the next and struggle to make it through each month.  Given my circumstances, purchasing an oxygen concentrator is not possible.  Insurance will not cover any of the cost.  Carol’s gift is intended to make it possible.

I’ve photographed the pieces in 3 groupings.  For each photo I’ve detailed the names of the Chinese characters, their meanings and the dimensions of each piece.  The suggested donation for each calligraphy is $100, or best offer.  I insist on the “best offer” opportunity to choose one of Carol’s calligraphies.  No one of us should be prevented from participating because of financial constraints.  If you’re able to help keep me oxygenated while sleeping, I’ll be very grateful.

Thank you.
